Sydney Lageyre

Sydney Lageyre is entering her third season as assistant coach to Julie LeMaire at NSU, continuing a strong coaching partnership that has contributed to two of the Sharks’ four consecutive NCAA regional appearances. A former student-athlete at NSU, Lageyre played six seasons under LeMaire, culminating in the program’s first-ever Sunshine State Conference Championship in 2022 and an NCAA Regional appearance, giving her a unique perspective on the program's sustained success.

In her final season, the Miami native posted career highs across nearly every offensive category, batting .377 with 69 hits, 38 runs, 28 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases. She led the SSC in batting average and hits, ranked fourth in runs scored, and third in stolen bases. Her performance earned First-Team All-SSC, SSC All-Defensive Team, and NSCA All-Region Second Team honors. One of her career highlights came in March of 2020 when she was named both SSC Player of the Week and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week.

Lageyre holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education from NSU, focusing on autism spectrum disorders and an ESOL endorsement. After graduation, she spent a year in Spain teaching English to elementary students with special needs
